The leader in the room at the moment is Joseph Stiers (Silver Spring, MD), who is the first players to eclipse the 100,000 mark. Stiers currently has 117,000, and just happened to be mentioning to the table how he really took up tournament poker last year. It was a great start to a career as Stiers won the opening event of the Borgata WPT Winter Poker Open, besting 3,870 players and collecting $318,104 for the win.
